An exploration of the London art scene in the 1960s, with photographs by Lord Snowdon. Private View was a comprehensive effort by Bryan Robertson, John Russell and Lord Snowdon to promote the contemporary London art world. The book examines the current painters and sculptors (Moore, Hepworth, Bacon, Sutherland, Hockney, et al), the dealers, the critics, the connoisseurs, the schools and the teachers. Snowdon's photographs provide an important record of all the key players.

Bryan Robertson (1 April 1925 – 18 November 2002) was an English curator and arts manager described by Studio International as "the greatest Director the Tate Gallery never had".
About Lord Snowdon
Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon was a British photographer and filmmaker. He is best known for his portraits of world notables, many of them published in Vogue, Vanity Fair and other major venues; more than 100 of his photographs are in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery.
