About
Cornelia Pierce's abstract moon-drenched views of the Arizona desert are entangled with a sense of liminality. They conjure spaces and geologies that, on the surface, present as familiar. However, as we pass through sequential views within the world she crafts, we begin to see that the terrain is interior, and what presents as the exterior is thwarted by the deep psychological lode within the images. Nothing is fixed, and things become less familiar the more we engage with the artist and her works on repeat.
