About
There are many remarkable things about these enchanting studies, clothed and unclothed, of some bewitching girls who posed playfully and artfully for a young man of 35 who lives and works in South Africa. But the most revealing fact about these photographs is that they were all taken as a sort of exuberant holiday from the restrictions of his regular work as a successful advertising and magazine illustrator in Johannesburg. Here are five luscious girls affectionately caught, with wit, with daring, and an impudent camera eye, by an artist who appreciates them, not only for what they are, but for what they can be. The photographs are exquisitely reproduced in the finest of printing processes, gravure. The result is a work of art that will delight the sense and pleasure the mind. In a technical section, Mr. Haskins explains the techniques and processes used in making the photographs.
