About Kein Schoner Land
So, Dirk Reinartz documented his homeland, the Federal Republic of Germany, over a period of ten years. He then presents the results here: seventy nine creepy images of Germany. Failed attempts to discover a home in a sprawled, but fragmented landscape and clumsy concrete, neatly grouted unreasonable demands. These black and white photographs then enable a new look at our everyday world by showing what one sees so often that one no longer really perceives it. They present the everyday in all its absurdity and indignity. Where practical constraints are also paired with official ignorance. Places have sometimes emerged that look like something out of a science fiction film. Even if people are rarely seen in these pictures - every single one refers to the person.
