In Lee Valley Leisure, Robinson focuses on a place that is currently being envisaged in the future. Moreover, as a utopian dream. The Olympic bid is currently surrounded with much anticipation. It will be announced July 2005. People see its potential regeneration as a panacea for all the social ills that have historically faced the area. However, this also presupposes that the land currently has no purpose and is not used. And this is far from the truth, as is revealed in Robinson's works.
About David Robinson
So, David Robinson is an Irish artist based in London. For the past 15 years, his artwork has combined his passion for photography and food. Moreover, Robinson has produced highly original Fungi Luminograms and idiosyncratic films in his East-London studio. He is also co-founder of Sporeboys. This is a mushroom street-food kitchen. It tours food markets in London and events across the UK. Sporeboys food has been celebrated in The New York Times and The Independent.
