About Them
'Them' takes place in the West Bank and Israel. The photographer travelled for five months using local buses. This way, she blended into the crowds like another commuter. She mixed with workers, Jewish and Christian teenagers, Ghanaian pilgrims. As a result, the narratives come together, overlapping in front of her camera. Her photographs are political and raw. Sometimes, the stories are charged with suffering, often brought into people's lives due to religious or political reasons. Ultimately, her images are about human experiences in a very tumultuous region. Overall, Fox Solomon's photographs have a palpable sensitivity. Adequately, they express chaos and tension. Also, her use of sequence and the humanity she perceives in her subjects, create an spectacular body of work.
