About Go There
Born in 1979 in the Aichi prefecture. Gen Sakuma is a street photographer based in Tokyo. He continues to wander around and shoot around Tokyo. He founded TAP Gallery in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Tokyo and is also actively working. Since his first solo exhibition in 2006, he has consistently made works with the title "Go there", and this photobook will be the first photobook that will be the culmination of his activities so far. The sight captured by the eyes shining from the depths of the glasses, which is also the writer's trademark, is a little different from the everyday life we usually see. The world where the place names are stripped from the landscape and collected is undoubtedly another world called "there" that he aims for. The binding of the photo book is a silk screen with a faint photo drawn on a red cloth. Then, by pressing the foil of the glasses on it, it looks as if the artist controls the world of photographic works. In addition to the red cloth-covered cover, the three sides are also painted red with silk, and the book itself is completely packaged in red.
