About IN THE GOLD DUST RUSH
Maybe you are familiar with Jason Lee from the television series My Name is Earl, or you may know him as a former professional skateboarder. But did you know he is also a producer, writer and in later years he has discovered a passion for photography? In his new monograph titled IN THE GOLD DUST RUSH are collected 12 years worth of photographs. These 84 beautifully printed and captivating black and white images are all taken during his travels accross America. From landscapes to cityscapes Lee's lense captures neglected or abandoned sites easily overlooked by other travelers. The photographer is drawn to places that had seemingly fallen between the cracks, fascinated by the evident presence of cancellation and departure.
“Some people go hiking, some people go on hunting expeditions or whatever, I jump in my car with my camera gear, drive around and shoot photos,” he says. “That’s what I like to do.” (from his interview with the Guardian - view here)
