About Ruby Every Fall
Ruby is Goldberg's daughter; and for this incredible, honest and beautiful book he photographed her on her first day of school. He began taking photos of her from the first day of kindergarten, all of the way up to her final year at college. As a result, the viewer gets to watch Ruby grow through the eyes of a loving father. Sometimes there are large collages of pictures and text; whereas in others, there is a simple straightforward picture of Ruby. Goldberg's style is electric and varied, mixing formats, black and white and colour as well as manipulating the pictures with pens and markers. Thanks to this unique style Goldberg manages to craft an object which feels like a family album and joins a great lineage of photobooks about families.
