So, this is a tale of terror, political oppression and control as well savage misogyny. It's a warning of a potential reality waiting to happen.Overall, the tone of the novel is fiercely political and bleak. Although, it has many moments of wisdom and wit that provides the reader with a breath of fresh air amidst all the horror.

Margaret Atwood is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, essayist, teacher, environmental activist, and inventor.
