Dutch Encounters

Alvarez Bravo turns 100 this year, the Kunsthal in Rotterdam celebrates this with an exhibition of selected Mexican photographs and a series he took of Rotterdam life in 1959 and 1960. The catalogue is a neat poetic complement to Alvarez Bravo’s trademark sensitivity. Quotes in large font, an interview and an introduction are placed next to the carefully positioned prints framed by a creamy white border.
