About Five Photographers
Five Photographers is a book about the self. Self-doubt, self-denial, self-ridicule. Furthermore, it's about the search for what the self is. A classic 'artist' question o dilemma, now presented by Zhizhou in this book.
The images form a surprising sequence creating a vibrant project, full of colour, of oddness, of not knowing what we're about to land our eyes on.
The cover is enigmatic and uncomfortable. The images are enticing and interesting. The artist creates an unpredictable series that lures the viewer in and doesn't let go until the last page is turned. Q, M, K, T, S, which are randomly inserting in the word “The Photographer”. It looks strange. Actually, their stories are also a little bit awkward. They are trapped in their own idols and aesthetics. Thus their minds and creations are confined in the same way. However, thanks to some unpredictable coincidences, finally they abandon all those obsessions, and face their own internal worlds.
